The store-sold food is loaded with vitamins and minerals that your child needs, and since babies do not mind plain taste they will eat it with pleasure. It will also be much easier for you. On the other hand, when you child is already a toddler, he/she can eat things from your table and be just fine.

Hi Michelle! Its a great idea to share our experiences. My daughter is 16 months old now and she eats almost always what we eat. The hardest part for me was transitioning into solits, and I understand you so very much! When she was about 8 months old I started to give her those cereals that you can buy in the stores and also some fruit and vegetable purees. She liked oat cereal (Natures Goodness brand) and fruit purees were her desserts but she refused to eat vegetable purees (most of them taste awful). Then I started making my own vegetable purees (boiled carrots, potatoes, brocolli, spinach and crushed them in a mixer (one at a time or in combination). That worked. Since she became 12 months old I started giving her our table food. I am still not sure if she gets the best nutrition, but I am trying. What food are you making?
